His generals conquered <strong>Luoland (parts of Korea)<\/strong> and <strong>Nanyue (in today\u2019s Vietnam)<\/strong>, and the empire established trade and diplomatic contacts in <strong>Central Asia<\/strong>. These efforts contributed to the early formation of what would become the famous <strong>Silk Road<\/strong> linking China to the West.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Life at Court and Cultural Influence<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Wudi\u2019s court in the capital <strong>Chang\u2019an<\/strong> (meaning \u201cEternal Peace\u201d) buzzed with life. It housed the <strong>imperial library<\/strong> with wooden tablets and painted silk scrolls. Wudi created the <strong>Imperial Academy<\/strong> for the education of future civil servants, who studied literature, history, philosophy, and writing \u2014 laying early foundations for China\u2019s bureaucracy.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ceremonies, Festivals, and Public Life<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Wudi reinstated sacred ceremonies like <em>Feng and Shan<\/em> sacrifices to honor heaven and earth, drawing on astrology and religious tradition for auspicious timing. He also established an official <strong>Music Bureau<\/strong> to select ceremonial and festive music.
